- See Can I use Starlink on the ocean? or What are the Roam service plans? for more details on this feature.

Local and Global Priority: Add Data Blocks
On Local and Global Priority plans, you can manage your data in 2 ways:
Adjust your recurring monthly data amount (takes effect next billing cycle)
Choose how much data you get each month, in blocks of 50GB or 500GB. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
- Web: Go to "Subscriptions", select the service line you want to modify, then under “Data” edit your Monthly Data.
- App: Tap the Person icon, then “Subscriptions”, select the service line you want to modify, then under "Data Usage" edit your Monthly Data.
Add data for this billing cycle (takes effect immediately)
Manually add more data when you need it (One-Time Top-Up), or have data added automatically when you run out (Automatic Top-Up).
- One-Time Top-Up: Add 50GB blocks as needed.
- Web: Go to "Subscriptions", select the service line you want to modify, then under “Data” add a One-Time Top-Up.
- App: Tap the Person icon, then “Subscriptions”, select the service line you want to modify, then under "Data Usage" add a One-Time Top-Up.
- Automatic Top-Up: Automatically adds 50GB or 500GB blocks when you run out of data on your current data block.
- Web: Go to "Subscriptions", select the service line you want to modify, then under “Data,” enable Automatic Top-Up.
- App: Tap the Person icon, then “Subscriptions”, select the service line you want to modify, then under "Data Usage" enable Automatic Top-Up.

General notes on additional data:
- You will receive an email and push notification when you have consumed 80% and 100% of your data. Make sure you are opted-in to receive Data Usage notifications in the app.
- Pricing for additional data blocks may differ from past purchases and will reflect current rates at the time of purchase.
- Once opted in, you’ll be billed for extra data used beyond your plan’s allotment until you opt out, including in future billing cycles.
- Track data usage in your account. Your bill may show less data than the Data Tracker, as Starlink subtracts data used for backend operations (e.g., software updates).
- If your service is currently paused, you must activate service to see the toggle.
Important note for opting in after an ocean, continent, or location restriction has been enforced:
If you have a custom network setup or configuration (VPN, content filtering, third-party routers, etc), this may block access to your Starlink account to Opt-in or upgrade for additional Priority data while connected to the Starlink network. You will need to remove your customizations or connect to a different network to access your Starlink account. Additional details can be found in the Starlink Fair Use Policy.
