Internet From Space for Farming in Taquaritinga
Taquaritinga, Brazil | 21.4011° S, 48.5087° W

For Fernando, a farmer from Taquaritinga, in the countryside of São Paulo, Starlink solved a problem that once seemed unsolvable.

“We had tried other internet solutions before, but none of them were satisfactory,” says Fernando, who runs an agricultural business with his two brothers. In July 2022, they became early adopters of the technology in their region. With the arrival of Starlink, they were able to shift several administrative tasks directly to the farm's headquarters — benefiting both workers and their families. Starlink has transformed the farm's daily operations, with positive impacts felt across every hectare — from bringing internet access to workers’ homes to optimizing the use of agricultural inputs in the field. “Now I can manage banking tasks, request quotes, place online orders, sign documents electronically, and join meetings via video call. It has brought a huge gain in productivity,” Fernando shares.

2024 Progress Report

In just over five years, SpaceX designed, deployed, and activated high-quality internet, which is now available for over 2.8 billion people around the world, including for those who live in some of the most remote places on Earth.

This progress report highlights several remote communities where Starlink is providing fast, reliable, and affordable internet. Rural school districts, counties, and tribal governments are now able to offer online access to education, telemedicine, and many other critical services—in some cases, for the first time ever.
